Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

HBayit B'London ("HBayit", "we", "us") is a registered charity in England and Wales (charity number 1217670). We are committed to protecting the privacy of everyone in our community. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and what your rights are.

Information we collect

When you donate:

  • Your name, email address and billing address.
  • If you claim Gift Aid, your home address and postcode, which HMRC requires for the claim.
  • The amount and frequency of your donation.

Your card details are entered directly into Stripe, our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.

When you use our website:

  • Cookies and similar identifiers that tell us how the site is used (pages viewed, device, approximate location). These load only with your consent.

When you contact us:

  • Whatever you choose to send us through WhatsApp, email or our social channels.

When you sign up for our event emails:

  • Your name and email address.
  • Which of our events you have registered for, so we can tell you about the ones you are likely to care about.
  • Whether you opened an email or followed a link in it. We use this only to see whether our emails are worth sending.

How we use your information

  • To process your donation and send you a receipt.
  • To claim Gift Aid from HMRC, where you have asked us to.
  • To understand how our website is used so we can improve it.
  • To respond to you when you get in touch.
  • To email you about our events, where you have asked us to. Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and we act on it straight away. We never sell or rent our mailing list.

Who we share it with

We never sell your information. We share it only with the services that help us run HBayit:

  • Stripe, to process payments securely.
  • Google Analytics, to measure website use.
  • Meta, to measure the results of our awareness campaigns.
  • Amazon Web Services, which delivers our event emails.
  • Luma, which runs our event registration and ticketing.

Each of these providers processes your data under its own privacy policy, linked above. Some are based outside the UK; where that is the case, your data is protected by the safeguards those providers have in place.

How long we keep your information

We keep donation and Gift Aid records for as long as UK tax law requires, which is currently at least six years. We keep other information only for as long as we need it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you,
  • ask us to correct or delete it,
  • withdraw your consent to cookies or marketing at any time,
  • complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

You can change your cookie choices at any time through the "Privacy Preferences" link in the footer of every page.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version always lives on this page.
